Don't Quit Poem - Literature English lesson

I use this for 9th grade English speaker class, after Pesach.
Feel free to use this in your class!

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,

When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,

When the funds are low and the debts are high

And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.

When care is pressing you down a bit -

Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,

As everyone of us sometimes learns,

an honest man
We don't hear the "h" so we use the word an instead of a
a hospital
a hungry man
a hamburger
In these words, we hear the h so we use 'a'
Another unusual case is the letter "u"
an unhappy camper
an underground parking lot

These phrases follow the rule, that we use an before a vowel, a, e, i, o, u
But these examples don't
 a union
a university student
The sound of the u …
